In 2014, we exhibited our first design objects at SaloneSatellite
in Milan.
The metal workshop that fabricated those pieces for us — a small
atelier in Seoul — was called Lamsturn.
A decade later, Lamsturn is a brand in its own right: hand-built
asado and robata grills specified by Paulo Airaudo (Amelia ★★,
Aleia ★★, NOI ★★) and Vicky Lau (TATE Dining Room ★★, MORA ★
- Green Star). And Umzikim now handles every Lamsturn export
outside Korea.
From the Milan showroom visit, to the 300-kilo freight logistics,
to the white-glove install in a Michelin kitchen at 6 a.m. before
service. That’s the job.
Why a design studio, and not a freight forwarder? Because shipping
a hand-built, 307 kg charcoal grill to San Sebastián or Hong Kong
isn’t a logistics problem. It’s a trust problem. And trust, in this
industry, is built over a decade — not fifteen emails.

shortest path to it.
